The world notices pretty, well dressed young women. And it tries real hard not to see the unattractive sloppy ones.

Wow, this is harsh, is it not? What delineates pretty? Is one's persona different if she is wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants, no makeup and has her hair in a loose pony tail where some strands are hanging in her face verses one who has neatly pressed slacks with a matching blouse, every strand of hair in place with perfectly applied makeup and perfect manicure? What if the two women described above are the same woman. Which one would you prefer to meet? If you met the woman first wearing the t-shirt and sweatpants and then a second time wearing the pressed clothes and perfect makeup, would you think she is finally cleaning herself up? What if you met her first perfectly made up and then met her a second time in her t-shirt and sweatpants? Would you say she let herself go or that she needs a day to relax? How about you? Would you want to be noticed in the most positive way? One thing that I have noticed is that if I leave the sweatpants home and take only a few minutes to "clean myself up" before going out, people notice me more. People are more friendly and want to help me more. Granted, I do not apply my makeup perfectly or have a perfect manicure (I am lucky I give myself a manicure) but more in the sense of presenting myself nicely. I find this very interesting.
